Where can I find Alexandra Park Judo Club?

Alexandra Park Judo Club can be found in the gymnasium of Alexandra Park School, in Muswell Hill. We are a short walk from Bounds Green underground station, Alexandra Park Overground and several bus routes.

When do you train?

Alexandra Park Judo Club trains twice a week on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Juniors: 19:00 - 20:00
Seniors: 20:00 - 21:30

Saturday
Juniors: 09:30 - 10:30
Seniors: 10:30 - 12:00


How much does it cost to train at Alexandra Park Judo Club?

The first session is free of charge and then every session is £5.00 thereafter.
Alternatively, you can pay for a full term upfront (£60.00 if training once a week, £80.00 if training twice a week), which works out cheaper.

What ages do you accept?

We accept children from 6 upwards and have no upper age limit.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque, debit/credit card and Apple Pay

Do I need to register to come along for my first session?

Nope, just come along and jump on the mat.

Do I need to bring anything to my first session?

No, we have plenty of spare judo suits you can wear to get you started.

Where can I buy a judo gi?

You can buy a gi through us (£20.00 for junior sizes, £30.00 for seniors), or alternatively there are plenty of reputable online retailers.

What will I learn in my first session?

In your first session you will learn to fall safely. You cannot throw or be thrown without being able to do a breakfall. Within a few weeks beginners will also learn the basics of throws and grappling techniques.

How often do you hold gradings?

Club gradings are held three times a year within the club. Members above 3rd kyu (green belt) are required to grade at an area/regional level, which occur at regular intervals throughout the year.

How much do you charge for gradings?

There is no additional fee for club gradings. Area and National gradings may charge a minimal attendance fee. This is at the discretion of the grading organiser.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, all persons participating in judo at Alexandra Park Judo Club must hold a valid, up to date BJC licence or equivalent.
